Silent Witness turns London into a metropolitan Midsomer, with never ending bodies turning up after two decades. Already the twentieth series is scheduled for next year.

This year’s series ended this week, attracting 6.3 million viewers to its final episode – a 26 percent audience share for BBC One. Also, proving the ongoing cast changes haven’t dampened audience enthusiasm for this staple procedural.

Islington, Haringey and Camden all pitched in, helping to serve up the capital’s never ending killers and corpses.

In Islington, the BT building on Hull Road in EC1 played the police station and St Luke’s Community in Central Street, EC1 acted as the parole office.

The Farmiloe Building on St John Street became the police training centre. And a record producer was found dead in in EC1’s Dingley Place.

On Camden’s Whittington Estate, two flats and garages were used for filming – sure enough the body of a husband and wife were found in one. And another body was found in the communal garden. The production paid location fees to the Estate and made a donation to the community gardens.

In Russell Square two characters were filmed talking on a bench with the fountain in the background.

And a house in Swains Lane saw police and the forensic team arrive for a stand off with the character, Schrader.

In Haringey The Boogaloo on Archway Road became a club lounge location.
