FilmFixer has taken over management of Haringey Council’s film service – bringing residents into a community of thirteen London borough film offices managed by us.
Haringey has hosted a lot of great filming in the past, including scenes in Rush, Happy-Go-Lucky, Notes on a Scandal and Shaun of the Dead, along with TV programmes like Peep Show, Whitechapel and the Inbetweeners
FilmFixer is already enjoying bringing new filming into the borough, and looks forward to involving residents further in the benefits of filming.
We are dedicated to protecting residents and securing the respect of film crews. We also work very hard on behalf of residents to negotiate benefits including direct donations to resident and business groups, local parks and playgrounds; arranging Q&A meetings with filmmakers; and securing jobs on productions, along with training and work placements for local young people.
We’d like Haringey residents know that we operate a 24-hour helpline, so that any filming concerns can be resolved immediately. The number is 07919 002 115.
FilmFixer director Karen Everett said, “We are very much looking forward to offering filmmakers the wonderful locations Haringey has to offer. It’s within easy reach of our central London boroughs Islington and Camden, and outer borough of Redbridge – providing a perfect stepping stone between the urban and countryside landscapes.
“In addition, we look forward to working closely with residents’ groups to involve them more, as their neighbourhoods play important roles on the big and small screens.”
New Haringey mayor Cllr Jennifer Mann, added, “We are really looking forward to working with FilmFixer to negotiate beneficial relationships between our residents and filmmakers and to increase the revenues earned through filmmaking.”
