Bexley: bringing it home for all the BBC’s iPlayer Shorts this year

And the winner is… Bexley!… chosen as the location for three extremely diverse film shorts – all of which are now available to view on iPlayer.

iPlayer Shorts commissions six films over two years – attracting 20,000 up-and-coming writers and directors. It’s a collaboration between BBC iPlayer, BBC Three and BBC Drama Production. All the first three, commissioned for this year, have been shot in FilmFixer’s very own client borough of Bexley.

FilmFixer director Karen Everett said, “We’re so pleased to see how the filmmakers applied their distinct ideas to Bexley. And we enjoyed every moment of fixing the locations. Each of the films is a great watch in its unique way.”

The shorts: Flea, Tag and My Jihad are a wonderful combination of the inspirational, funny, dramatic and poignant. They involve plots as varied as speed dating, domestic violence and school high jinks (by the teachers).

One borough’s ability to work for all three productions shows how good local knowledge, contacts and great service can support a wide spectrum of location needs.
