Jane Soans, one of the UK’s most experienced and respected location managers, has recently joined the team as Operations Manager.

Jane is responsible for negotiating the complex needs of medium and large scale film and TV crews as they work in the eleven Boroughs represented by FilmFixer. Her role is to understand their requirements and how these can best be met whilst respecting the rights of residents and businesses during the filming process. She is being ably supported by FilmFixer’s team of experienced film officer staff.

She began her career as a Stage Manager, originally in theatre and later in television. Her previous film experience includes Shiner starring Michael Caine; Separate Lives directed by Julian Fellowes; Closer – starring Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Clive Owen and directed by Mike Nichols; Chromophobia starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Penelope Cruz and Ralph Fiennes and directed by Martha Fiennes; Me and Orson Welles – starring Zac Efron; W.E. – directed by Madonna; Ginger and Rosa directed by Sally Potter; Zero Dark Thirty directed by Kathryn Bigelow and Jack Ryan directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Her TV work includes Karaoke by Dennis Potter – starring Albert Finney; Neville’s Island starring Timothy Spall, Martin Clunes, Jeff Rawle, Directed by Terry Johnson

Jane worked at the London Film Commission during its first and formative year, has been a Committee member for the Guild of Location Managers since 2006 and is also a Board Member of the Production Guild.
