Karen Everett – joint founder FilmFixer
Karen Everett has worked in the Film and TV industry for over ten years. After a varied career as a freelancer, Karen began working with Little Wing Films as Head of Production, overseeing 14 feature films in total. Projects included Pure, Two Men Went to War, American Cousins and 9 Dead Gay Guys. Karen also worked on a feature development programme that provided funding to over 300 feature projects, including Richard Attenborough’s Closing the Ring and the award winning Hallam Foe.
In 2009, Karen established FilmFixer with Andrew Pavord, to provide administrative and practical support for local authorities and landowners wishing to maximise income from location filming in London. FilmFixer now handles around 5000 film shoots a year and operates the film offices for eleven London Boroughs – Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Camden, Islington, Kingston, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Redbridge and Southwark, as well as a number of privately-owned locations.
Andrew Pavord – joint founder FilmFixer
Andrew set up FilmFixer in 2009 with fellow Director Karen Everett. FilmFixer now operates the film offices for eleven London Boroughs, as well as a number of privately-owned locations. In addition, Andrew is the creator and developer of FilmApp, the online application notification and payment systems, which is currently used by 25 boroughs across London and the UK. He is also a Board member of the Guild of Location Managers and a member Member of BECTU
Andrew began his career as a location manager and producer in 1988, working on many pop promos, TV programmes feature films and short films until he became Film Officer for Southwark and Lewisham Councils in 2004. Projects include The Cappuccino Years, the BBC’s productions of Madam Bovary, The Secret and The Cambridge Spies, and many feature films including Let Him Have It and X-Files Movie.
