Action comedy capered about Camden: The Hitman’s Bodyguard

London’s Camden played a role in the upcoming comedy action film The Hitman’s Bodyguard starring Samuel L Jackson, Ryan Reynolds and Salma Hayak. Take a look at the trailer here.

Ryan Reynolds plays a special agent who has to protect his enemy, a notorious hitman, getting him safely from the UK to the International Court of Justice in the Hague. High-speed car and boat chases ensue as they are forced to work together against an Eastern European dictator played by Gary Oldman.

In May last year 120 cast and crew filmed in and around Freemason’s Hall, which played a police holding cell, corridors and a court room.

FilmFixer manages the film office service for Camden council. FilmFixer director Andrew Pavord says, “We supported the production with unit basing for over 100 cast and crew in Islington’s Finsbury Square and then for 300 in Northampton Road.

“Outside Freemason’s Hall the production erected a green screen covering one corner but otherwise, the arrival of this big film made very little impact that day. Londoners simply take big shoots with A-listers such as this in their stride.”
