Chock full of our locations, Man Up’s trailer shows off London as the last word in romantic backdrops, ahead of the film’s launch on May 29th.
Take a look here.
In a flawless English accent, US actress Lake Bell plays a 34-year-old exhausted from endless futile set ups by well-meaning but clueless friends.
As she travels across London to toast another 10 years of her parents’ blissful marriage, 40 year old, freshly-divorced Simon Pegg mistakes her for his 24 year old blind date. In a moment of uncharacteristic optimism Nancy just goes with it. And so begins a chaotic night neither of them will forget, including the small matter of Jack finding out that Nancy isn’t actually his real date.
Describing it as a joyful rom-com, Simon Pegg has been joking that thanks to this film he’s the next Hugh Grant.
You can’t miss the scenes filmed in Southwark, Camden, Lambeth and Islington.
You’ll see Bell and Pegg walking along Stoney Street in Southwark and into Vinopolis under the railway bridge for the bar scene.
Bloomsbury Lanes bowling alley in Camden features heavily, and look out for interiors in Love and Liquor, on Kilburn High Road in Camden.
In Lambeth, a taxi pulls up and the couple says goodbye.
In Islington, on Ella Road, two characters chat while loading shopping into the back of a car. This scene was a great example of filming around the needs of local residents, shot entirely on steadicam and using available light.
FilmFixer director Karen Everett said, “It’s always fun to see London on screen and in Man Up it really glows. We’re happy to have been able to sew together the permitting across different authorities.”
