Johnny Depp capers about London in his new art heist comedy Mortdecai, taking in many of our client locations. The star-studded premiere is this evening, with the general release on Friday.
Owing the British government money, the bumbling Mortdecai is coaxed into helping solve a recent murder and art theft. His man servant played by Paul Bettany and “impossibly leggy” wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, pile in to help, along with Ewan McGregor as the manipulative MI5 agent.
The dark humour is met with gun fights and car chases, and some stunning interiors.
Working across the many permitting authorities in Newham, we cleared the way for fantastic chase sequences, arranging road closures in Dock Road, North Woolwich Road, Bell Lane and Royal Albert Way. Southwark features when the action moves to Shad Thames. Paltrow and McGregor dine on the riverside in the Design Museum’s Blue Print Café. We also helped out in Camden, including around Craxton Studios and in Lambeth on Lambeth Bridge.
