Another year, another FOCUS!
For those that might not know, FOCUS is a 2-day live trade event at the Business Design Centre in London. It is a meeting place for anyone involved in the creation, production and promotion of on-screen entertainment.
For us, it’s always the perfect opportunity to connect with our industry colleagues and clients and to announce big things happening at FilmFixer. This year, we had a lot to talk about!
First, we officially launched the Hampshire and Solent Film Office – a new venture in partnership with Farnborough International Studios that we’re incredibly excited to have won the contract for. Our Chairman Andrew Pavord was joined by Portsmouth City Council’s Steve Pitt, and Rachel Morrison – Director at Farnborough International Studios – for a panel discussion to announce the news. We were all very grateful to see not a single empty seat in the presentation space!
Next up, we celebrated the arrival of LocationDB – a brand new visual search tool developed by Apply4. It’s an AI-driven, innovative search engine designed to make it easy for film commissions and local authorities to showcase their locations. The site supports image-to-location search, matching architecture, mood, style, and visual cues – a game total changer for location scouts.
What with the two big announcements above, our news from The Generator Project and Set Ready, plus the ongoing brilliant work over at Screen Suffolk, this was one of our most jam-packed and exciting FOCUS shows yet.
A huge thank you to the organisers and to everyone who contributed to another brilliant year!
